Finding Nemo was one of Pixar’s best and most endearing animated films. And now, after 13 years, the animation powerhouse has finally decided that it will revisit its underwater universe with the follow-up to that classic with Finding Dory.
Pixar President, Jim Morris revealed more about the sequel to Finding Nemo, stating that it will take place in one setting. Finding Dory will reportedly continue six months after the first film with Dory feeling homesick, which sets her off on a quest to uncover her origins.
“The movie will be mostly set at the California Marine Biology Institute, a huge complex of sea life rehabilitation and aquarium, where Dory was born and raised,” revealed Morris. “We will get to meet new characters, like an octopus, sea lions, a beluga whale, among others.”
Finding Dory will reunite the some of the cast of Finding Nemo mainly Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang. Along with Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks is set to return with Willem Dafoe and Ty Burrell. New additions to the cast include Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton who will reportedly voice Dory’s parent and Idris Elba and Dominic West, who will likely voice some of the new characters.
Finding Dory is scheduled for release in June 2016.
