The latest MonsterVerse instalment from Warner Bros may well be an origins tale. Currently in production in Australia, the Godzilla vs Kong sequel has been given a working title and its being called ‘Origins’.
Considering where the first Godzilla vs. Kong film ended, the prequel tale of sorts could be a step in the right direction. Following their epic battle against Mechagodzilla, Kong found a new home in Hollow Earth with Godzilla returning to his lair.
The revelation of a Hollow Earth could be the starting point of the storyline of the new film. According to film’s storyline, this was the home of the Titans. Naturally, all this is speculative at this point since the Godzilla vs Kong sequel hasn’t an official title or synopsis at this point of time.
Adam Wingard is returning to helm the film with Dan Stevens leading the film. Warner Bros. and Legendary are also hard at work expanding their Kaiju universe.
There’s a Godzilla and Titans series currently in development at Apple TV+. The series will reportedly take place after the events of King of the Monsters. It will focus on a family living in a world filled with monsters. Kurt and Wyatt Russell are reportedly starring in the series.
Taking place prior to the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, it will reveal the fates of the monsters introduced in that film. As for Godzilla vs Kong: Origins that film is set for a release in March 2024.
