If superhero fatigue is a real thing then obviously Sony Pictures didn’t get the memo. That explains why we now have the new Kraven the Hunter trailer, which sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson suit up as the one-time Spider-Man nemesis. Although it is pegged as a Spidey spinoff, the friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler will not feature in this origin tale.
As seen by the newly-released red band trailer, Kraven the Hunter sees Johnson portray Sergei Kravinoff, who develops powers and skills, which turn him into one of the world’s most deadliest hunters. Normally drawn as a villain, this film from J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) sees Kraven adopt more of an anti-hero persona.
In the trailer we see the young hero in his formative years where he is left for dead by his father only to come back with a vengeance. What’s interesting most about the trailer occurs at the end, with the revelation that the character Rhino will have a part to play in this superhero tale as well.
The film also features Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Dmitri Smerdyakov, Alessandro Nivola, Levi Miller, and Russell Crowe. Kraven the Hunter is set to arrive in cinemas this October 6, check out the trailer below.
