Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed but Ant-Man 3 could see Kang the Conqueror debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as its big bad. Speculation is rife that the sequel will feature the time travelling baddie, which could be portrayed by Jonathan Majors, who currently stars in HBO’s Lovecraft Country.
Kang the Conqueror could prove to be the perfect villain for Ant-Man as he is after all a time-travelling entity. Considering Ant-Man’s past adventure dealing with time, specifically the Quantum Realm, he would be the perfect antagonist for Scott Lang and gang.
The villain was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, making his first appearance in Avengers #8 in 1964. Over the years, Kang the Conqueror tangled with a number of different heroes and teams but the most interesting bit about the character is his ties to the Fantastic Four.
Kang is actually Nathaniel Richards, a descendant of Reed Richards a.k.a. Mister Fantastic, from the future. If the character is indeed featuring in Ant-Man 3, perhaps Marvel has lined up a perfect opportunity to introduce the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Time will tell when more on the upcoming production develops over the course of the next few months.
