Marvel’s been doing some house keeping with its slate of superhero films and they’ve also tweaked the biggest release yet. Marvel’s two-part superhero ensemble film, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 Part II has now been retitled. The film’s which is expected to be released in May 2018 and May 2019 respectively will now be retitled as Avengers: Infinity War, whilst the second film hasn’t got a title as yet. Despite the tweak in the title, it would seem that the continuity portion of the project looks set to continue.
First Look: Bad Santa 2
It’s safe to say some of us are eagerly waiting to see Billy Bob Thornton reprise his role from the hit dark comedy, Bad Santa. And the good news is we don’t have to wait long because the sequel will be hitting screens this November. Bad Santa 2 sees Thornton reprise his role as Willie T. Soke, a down on his luck mall and disgruntled and mostly drunk, mall Santa. The first image from the film sees Thornton picking up where he left off, causing grievous bodily harm to a fellow Santa. Bad Santa 2 also stars Kathy Bates, Tony Cox and Christina Hendrix.
Willem Dafoe Joins Death Note
Two-time Oscar-nominated actor Willem Dafoe is the latest actor to have joined Adam Wingard’s adaptation of the popular Japanese manga Death Note. The actor will voice Ryuk the Shinigami in the movie, which will debut next year on Netflix. The movie is based on the hit Manga series revolving around a student who discovers a supernatural notebook that gives him the ability to kill anyone by writing their name and picturing their face.
Ruby Rose Joins Giant Shark Thriller Meg
Production is ramping up on the giant shark thriller Meg with the addition of Ruby Rose to the film. The Orange is the New Black star joins Jason Statham in the long-awaited adaptation. The film, which will be directed by Jon Turteltaub and produced by Warner Bros. revolves around a Carcharodon Megalodon, a 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric great white shark which appears off the coast of China and proceeds to cause havoc. The film will also include Chinese actress Bingbing Fan.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Remake
Yet another classic is headed for a remake/reboot treatment and this time around it’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The beloved 1988 classic featured Steve Martin and Michael Caine as a pair of conmen who try to hustle an heiress out of $50,000. The new updated remake by 21st Century Fox will feature Rebel Wilson as one of the leads. According to reports, Wilson will take on the role of a con-artist who attempts to swindle a young tech genius out of his fortune.
