MICHELLE MCLAREN FOR WONDER WOMAN
Filmmaker Michelle MacLaren is set to helm the stand alone Wonder Woman film for Warner Bros. The director who has been the odds-on favourite for the project was apparently chosen due to her stellar work on Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. Set for release in 2017, Wonder Woman will see Gal Gadot reprise her role as the Amazon warrior from Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice. No details what the plot of the film will involve but pundits speculate it may well be a prequel, based in the 1920s.
FIRST LOOK AT PAN
Hugh Jackman will be headlining a new Peter Pan film and now already saw what the Aussie actor will look like as Blackbeard. But the first batch of character posters from Pan also shows us what Hook will look like and he’s nothing like what we remember. Garret Hedlund seems to be putting on a more dashing debonair spin on Hook, which could mean that this could be an all-together different Peter Pan than we used to know.
OSCAR ISAAC IS APOCALYPSE
Despite Tom Hardy being linked to the role, 20th Century Fox has decided on the actor to portray Apocalypse and it’s none other than Oscar Isaac. The actor has apparently already inked the deal to play the main antagonist in X-Men: Apocalypse. We’re not sure how Isaac will fit into the role of En Sabbah Nur, but he has been having a busy period with roles in A Most Violent Year and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for a 2016 release.
MICHAEL FASSBENDER IS STEVE JOBS
After numerous false starts and drop-outs, Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic is finally gaining traction again. After Christian Bale dropped out of the project and Sony opted out of the production, the biopic is now found a home at Universal and they’ve tapped Michael Fassbender to star as the late co-founder of Apple. It is unknown at this point if Seth Rogen will go ahead to star as Steve Wozniak as originally intended.
NOW YOU SEE ME 2: THE SECOND ACT
The follow-up to 2013’s surprise hit Now You See Me has gotten an official title. This was made official by Mark Ruffalo, who recently posted an on-set photo on Instagram. Now You See Me 2: The Second Act will find the Four Horseman facing a new enemy who enlists them to pull off a dangerous act. Along with Ruffalo, the production will also reunite Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine along with new additions, Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou. Isla Fisher however is reportedly not returning for this second act.
