Comedian Tracy Morgan is making his much-anticipated return to stand-up with “Staying Alive,” an all-new comedy special exclusively for Netflix, the world’s leading Internet TV network. The stand-up special, shot before a packed house at New Jersey’s landmark Count Basie Theatre, will launch globally on Netflix Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The streaming channel is now the place for comedians following the addition of talents the likes of Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, and Jerry Seinfeld.
First Look: The Beguiled
The Beguiled, adapted by Sofia Coppola from Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name looks to be one of the big anticipated releases of 2017. Unfolding in a girls’ school in the state of Virginia in 1864, just as the Civil War rages, the Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies has been sheltered from the outside world— until the day a wounded Union soldier is discovered nearby and taken in. The Beguiled stars Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell.

Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci And Pacino Reunite
Trust Netflix to assemble one of the most impressive film talents one project. The streaming channel has just acquired Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, which is based on the true-life account of hitman Frank Sheeran who was involved with the murder of Jimmy Hoffa. Joining Scorsese in this highly-anticipated mob movie are legends Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino. Netflix reportedly laid out $105 million to acquire this project, which will reportedly be released in 2019.
First Look: The Deuce
HBO is working on a 70s era original series that’s rooted in the highly-controversial porn industry. Directed Simon’s The Deuce will see James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal front the new series. Franco will be pulling double duty on the new show playing a pair of twins – bartender, Vincent Martino and his brother Frankie. Gyllenhaal co-stars as Candy, a hooker who gets drawn into the fledgling porn industry. The Deuce is scheduled to air later this year.
