READYING FOR AN APOCALYPSE
Word is out that the production wheels for X-Men: Apocalypse will be beginning fairly soon. Construction for the lavish sets will begin in the next couple of months with principal photography set for April 2015. The film will be reportedly set in the 80s with the long-time X-Men villain, Apocalypse playing the main antagonist. The character was hinted at the end credits of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
DIESEL GIVES A SNEAK PEEK
Fresh off shooting Fast 7, the actor is now setting his sights on playing an immortal warrior in The Last Witch Hunter. Diesel took to Facebook to show the world a photo of himself in full costume. The film also stars Michael Caine and Elijah Wood and is set to open in 2016.
NEW HUNGER GAMES POSTERS
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 trailer is set to debut fairly soon. But in the meantime they’re giving fans a little taster courtesy of a number of posters that hint of an impending battle. Check out the Katniss themed poster with her back facing the camera and Gale with his full on suit and battle armour.
DWAYNE JOHNSON PREPARES TO BRING THE THUNDER
The Rock tweeted to the world that he’ll play Black Adam in an upcoming DC Comics film. Speculation is rife it will be for Shazam!, which effectively means Johnson will be taking on the villain role in a switch for once. The film will be reportedly be under the New Line Cinema banner, which could mean that it has no tie-in with the rest of DC and Warner Bros. productions that will be linked to Batman v Superman. Bummer.
WALKING DEAD SPIN-OFF
With fans itching to watch season 5 of the hit zombie series, AMC has already ordered a pilot episode for a spin-off series. It’s widely speculated that the Walking Dead spinoff will centre on another group of survivors with production beginning at the end of 2014. Season 5 of the Walking Dead is set to premiere in mid-October.
