It looks like Netflix is preparing to reboot another franchise and this time it’s none other than Lost in Space. The sci-fi classic was previously rebooted for the big screen with Gary OIdman and Matt LeBlanc but it sadly didn’t resonate well with audiences. For the new series, Netflix has tapped Parker Posey to star as Dr Smith, one of the key characters in the Lost In Space universe.The series is currently in the developmental stage at Netflix.
Rita Repulsa
The new Power Rangers film is set to hit cinemas next year and to stoke the promotional flames even further, there’s a new Rita Repulsa photo that’s making its rounds. Revealed on Twitter, the new photo sees Elizabeth Banks in her full glory as the vile villainess. The photo was accompanied by a Tweet that reads “After eons locked away… I’m FREE! I have plans for your pitiful planet. Stay tuned…” Power Rangers fights its way into cinemas in Summer 2017.
Star Trek: Discovery Adds Doug Jones
Following the appointment of Michelle Yeoh, the CBS series Star Trek: Discovery has also added Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp. Jones, famous for his role as Abe Sapien in Hellboy, will portray Lt. Saru, an alien Starfleet Science Officer whilst Rapp will star as Lt. Stamets, which will reportedly by the first gay character in the Star Trek universe. Details have also emerged regarding Yeoh’s character who is Captain Georgiou, a Starfleet Captain aboard the Starship Shenzhou.
John Cena Joins The Pact
With The Rock blazing a trail in Hollywood, it seems that another WWE Superstar is following in his path. Former world champion, John Cena who is currently busy filming series, American Grit, has now landed a role in The Pact. The comedy drama stars Ike Barinholtz and Leslie Mann and centres on three parents who find out that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night. Cena’s new role could further delay his return to in-ring competition in the WWE.
Billy Dee Williams As Two-Face
He played Harvey Dent in the Tim Burton movie and despite not having the opportunity to portray the character in the first series of Batman films, Billy Dee Williams is finally getting his shot at Two-Face. The LEGO Batman Movie has announced that the veteran actor will be voicing the villain in the film. Joining Williams are a stellar list of actors including Zach Galifianakis who is voicing the Joker and Ralph Fiennes and Will Arnett who are voicing Alfred and Batman/Bruce Wayne respectively.
