With Deadpool 2 deep into production, star Ryan Reynolds has shared a first look at one of the lead characters from the sequel, Domino. The iconic X-Men character will be brought to life by Zazie Beetz in the sequel due out in June 2018. To ensure continuity, Reynolds’ photo released on Twitter sees Beetz lying down on a Deadpool costume, which mocks the original Deadpool photo teased by the actor a few years ago. Deadpool 2 also stars Monica Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Jack Kesy, Stefan Kapicic, Julian Dennison, and Leslie Uggams.
R.I.P: Sam Shepard
Another week and Hollywood has lost another legend. Acclaimed actor and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Sam Shepard has passed on at age 73. The actor passed away in his home in Kentucky after succumbing to complications from Lou Gehrig’s disease. Shepard has always featured prominently in numerous film projects specifically as a supporting actor. He won a Pulitzer Prize for the play Buried Child and also claimed an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in The Right Stuff. In recent years he appeared in films such as Midnight Special, Cold in July, and Mud.
Ian McShane Joins Hellboy Reboot
Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen has just secured the services of Ian McShane. The actor is set to portray Professor Trevor ‘Broom’ Bruttenholm in the upcoming reboot. The character was previously portrayed by the late John Hurt. The Hellboy reboot will also see a new actor taking over the mantle of the titular character. David Harbour will take over ‘Hellboy’ from Ron Perlman for the film. Neil Marshall who previously directed The Descent will be helming the film, which is pencilled for a release in 2019.
Death Wish Remake First Look
The Death Wish remake will arrive in cinemas later this year and MGM has finally unveiled a first look at the film. Bruce Willis fronts the film, which is based on the Charles Bronson classic revolving around a mild-mannered man who embarks on a bloodthirsty rampage to avenge the loss of his wife and daughter after a violent home invasion. Death Wish is directed by Eli Roth and is slated to his cinemas in November 2017.
Hayley Atwell Joins Winnie The Pooh
Disney’s live-action Winnie the Pooh movie has taken some tremendous steps forward recently. Following the announcement that Ewan McGregor will be portraying Christopher Robin in the live-action drama, Disney has also secured the services of Hayley Atwell as well. The British actress, famous for playing Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will join McGregor in this live-action project directed by Marc Forster.
