The hit musical Mamma Mia will be getting a sequel with the original cast returning. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is slated to sashay its way into cinemas in summer 2018 with Ol Paker of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel set to direct the production. Original cast members Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski will return to reprise their roles from the first film.

Universal Monster Movie Franchise Expands
dark_universeWith The Mummy set to unravel itself in cinemas soon, Universal has already begun constructing the franchise for the immediate franchise. And they’ve begun in spectacular form too with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe portraying two key characters. Now, the studio has also added Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem to this cinematic universe with both actors portraying The Invisible Man and Frankenstein’s Monster respectively. No word yet on when either production will begin.

Joss Whedon Takes Over Justice League
justice_newWith Zack Snyder currently facing a family tragedy, the director has handed the reins of Justice League to Joss Whedon. The DC superhero ensemble movie is due out later this year and despite most of the film shot, there are still reshoots and fine tweaking left to be done. But as Snyder deals with this tragedy, Whedon, will be putting the finishing touches at Warner Bros for the film. The director is credited in helping craft the Marvel Cinematic Universe with two Avengers films, so it will be interesting to see how Whedon will see Snyder’s vision for Justice League through.

Top Gun 2 Confirmed
Top_Gun2It’s been rumoured for some time but it seems that Top Gun 2 will finally take flight next year, according to Tom Cruise. The action star revealed the details during a recent promo tour for The Mummy, which he confirmed his reprisal as fighter pilot Maverick in the sequel. Although Cruise commented that filming will begin next year, details regarding the sequel have not been revealed. The plotline will likely take place 30 years after the events of the first film, with Maverick likely in a commander role at the Top Gun school.

Castlevania Animated Series

Netflix’s video game adaptation of the hit video game, Castlevania is upon us! Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis.
