With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just a few weeks away from release, fans are eagerly anticipating the cameos the film will bring, especially as it involves members of the Justice League. According to a recent report in Entertainment Weekly, characters, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg do in fact turn up in kind of smaller roles in the film. Don’t expect them to join in the fight though as their appearances are more cameo oriented, in a way of setting up the fact that all of these characters exist in one shared universe. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theatres late March 2016.
What’s up with Agent Ward
Season 3 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kick off soon and it will address some of the elements that resulted in the Season 2 cliff hanger. One that fans are anticipating is the role Agent Ward (Brett Dalton) will have in the new season, especially after having his body taken over by an alien entity. According to teasers, Ward will now be known as Hive, a mainstay villain from the comic books. However the FOX series is adamant that this version of the villain will be different from what fans have seen so far.
Legion of Super-Heroes on Supergirl
The latest episode of Supergirl revealed more Easter Eggs, which could expand the DC universe on the small screen. In addition to showcasing Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, the episode also teased the appearance of the Legion Flight Ring, which fans will recognise from the Legion of Superheroes comic series. Although it remains to be seen if the futuristic superhero group will appear in the CBS series, Supergirl will nevertheless have a special guest star soon as The Flash makes a stopover on the show later this month.
Fantastic Beasts a trilogy
J.K. Rowing has confirmed that the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be the start to a trilogy of films. Rowling made the announcement on social media to clear the air with regards to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which will not be a film but a stage play. Fantastic Beasts takes place 70 years before the first Harry Potter film and is set to open in November this year. The two other films in the series will open in 2018 and 2020 respectively.
Bruce Willis gets a Death Wish
Veteran action star, Bruce Willis is set to star in an upcoming remake of Death Wish. The action thriller which starred iconic 70s/80s tough guy, Charles Bronson spun a number of sequels during that era. The new film will likely serve as a reboot, depicting a cop who takes the law into his own hands after a family tragedy. Big Bad Wolves directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado have been tapped by Paramount and MGM to helm the film.
