The third instalment to the G.I. Joe franchise has apparently hit a roadblock, literally, following star, Dwayne Johnson’s current hectic schedule. According to reports, the action star’s slate of projects has pushed the Hasbro/Paramount sequel back indefinitely. The sequel was planned following stellar box-office results for 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which yielded close to USD400 million at the box-office. Johnson currently has a number of projects in development including a starring role in a DC superhero film and headlining the Jumanji sequel.
Billy Crudup Joins The Flash
It looks like the scarlet speedster has finally found his father. The Flash film will see Billy Crudup join the DCEU film. According to reports, Crudup will be playing the father to Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) in the superhero film directed by Rick Famuyiwa. If it all goes according to plan, this will mark the second time Crudup has joined a DC film. He previously played Doctor Manhattan in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen film.
First Look: Ghostrider
Vengeance is coming in the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he will be sporting a familiar look. Fans are anticipating the arrival of Ghost Rider in the upcoming season of the Marvel series, in an episode titled ‘Ghost’. Played by Gabriel Luna, this incarnation of the character is Robbie Reyes who rides around Los Angeles in a fiery Dodge Charger. Although it’s not Johnny Blaze and his Harley we’ll be sporting, this new version of the Ghost Rider still looks pretty cool nonetheless. Here’s hoping that we’ll see more of the Rider in future episodes and not just a one-off story arc.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, will air in late September.
Wolverine 3 Villain Confirmed
It looks like we will see a major baddie feature in the next X-Men adventure as Bryan Singer has confirmed that Mister Sinister will be in Wolverine 3. Of course this comes in light of the audio commentary from the new X-Men: Apocalypse DVD and the end credit teaser from the film that sees men from the Essex Corp who makes off with what seems to be Wolverine’s DNA. Nathaniel Essex is the alter ego of Mister Sinister and it remains to be seen if he has a major role to play in Wolverine’s final cinematic adventure or a lead-in into the next X-Men sequel.
Toxic Avenger Movie
Born out of toxic waste, the Toxic Avenger isn’t your run-of-the-mill comic book superhero. But he has grown on to become a cult favourite with an 80s movie of his own. Now, there’s speculation that a remake is being mooted for the film with Conrad Vernon at the helm. Vernon would seem as the ideal person to take on the project following his efforts in the recent R-Rated animated film, Sausage Party. The Toxic Avenger film was released in 1984 as a B-grade film depicting a disfigured superhero with toxic-like superpowers.
