It looks like the Justice League will have their hands full with villains soon. Following the revelation that the main antagonist will be Steppenwolf, star Ben Affleck tweeted a video that revealed Deathstroke will be making an appearance as well. Now there’s speculation that the villain will appear in Affleck’s standalone Batman film. We previously saw the character in season 2 of Arrow, where he played the chief antagonist.
First Look: Beauty and the Beast
The live-action treatment of Beauty and the Beast is currently in production and we now have images of some key characters from the film. Thanks to co-producer, Jack Morrissey, fans now have a better look at Lumière and Cogsworth. The screen grab hints that Disney is keeping fairly close to the cartoon classic, which should appease fans. The live-action Beauty and the Beast film opens in cinemas in March 2017.
Netflix Readies Female Wrestling Series
The subject of female pro-wrestling will be the focus of a new series by Netflix. Based on the independent promotion called G.L.O.W (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), the 10-episode series will revolve around female wrestlers of that era. Star of Community, Alison Brie is set to take on a key role in the series, playing an out of work actress who gets to realise her dream of becoming a sports entertaining on a weekly pro-wrestling programme.
Sherlock Season 4
The latest promo image for Sherlock season 4 sees a rather pensive Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman). Judging by this and the latest teaser trailer, it would seem the new season will take on a darker turn compared to previous seasons. There are no plot details released as yet but clues hint that Moriarty makes his return and Culverton Smith played by Toby Jones could also feature prominently in the show as well. Sherlock season 4 airs in January 2017.
Karen Gillan Joins Jumanji 2
The upcoming Jumanji sequel will have some added star power with the addition of Guardians of the Galaxy actor, Karen Gillan. The actress will join Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black in the film, which will be a direct sequel of the classic that starred the late Robin Williams. It’s unknown if the other stars from the first film like Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt, David Alan Grier and Patricia Clarkson will return as well. Jumanji 2 will be directed by Jake Kasdan and is slated for a mid-summer 2017 release.
