Fans of Zombieland will be glad to know that there is a sequel on the way with its original cast. All four stars of the original film –Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin – will reprise their roles along with director Ruben Fleischer. Zombieland 2 will continue with the zombie apocalypse and how each character has grown up in their new surroundings. The sequel will also see new evolved zombies in the mix. Zombieland 2 is expected to begin production in early 2019 with a release date pencilled in for October the same year.
Aquaman’s The Fisherman King
The latest image from James Wan’s upcoming DC superhero adventure, Aquaman reveals The Fisherman King. The image sees Djimon Hounsou decked out in full CGI-regalia complete with his Queen and princess. The character represents an evolved underwater species, which make up part of the kingdom of Atlantis. Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson and Willem Dafoe and is slated to swim into cinemas in late December 2018.
Bumblebee Villains Revealed
No Transformers film is complete without Decepticons and the Bumblebee film will have more than a couple. The standalone adventure will see our titular hero go up against a pair of muscle cars, called Shatter and Dropkick, which are voiced by Angela Bassett and Justin Theroux. The evil robots will also have a cohort, which flies. Bumblebee is a Transformers prequel, which is set in the mid-80s and stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.
New Venom Images
With Venom due to arrive in cinemas this October; Sony has released a couple more images from their standalone superhero film. It is no secret that despite the character belonging in the Spider-Man universe, there will be no Spidey in the mix for this one. What we’re getting instead is a symbiotic alien, which attaches itself to Eddie Brock, its human host. The new images see Tom Hardy in a precarious position and a new close-up of the Venom character. Venom also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate.
The Crown Season 3 Image
Netflix has revealed the first official image from The Crown Season 3, which sees Olivia Colman taking on the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy. With the new season focusing on the new stage of the Queen’s life, Colman will be joined by a new team of actors including Tobiaz Menzies (Prince Phillip), Helena Botham Carter (Princess Margaret) and Ben Daniels (Antony Armstrong-Jones). The Crown Season 3 will be set in the 60s and 70s and will launch in 2019. Colman previously featured in series such as Broadchurch and in movies such as Murder on the Orient Express.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Continues
Great news for Star Wars fans, specifically fans of The Clone Wars because Disney will be continuing the series. At the San Diego Comic-Con, Disney revealed that there will 12 new episodes of the series, which will air on their new direct-to-consumer streaming service. The new Clone Wars series will conclude the storylines that were left hanging following the cancellation of the animated adventure some years ago. The official post for the new series reads… “Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Reporting in for another tour of duty.”
