Two of the world’s biggest brands are tagging up for a new movie. Both WWE and Netflix will come together to produce family friendly fantasy flick, The Main Event. According the reports, the film will centre on a kid, a pro-wrestling fan, who discovers a magical mask who turns him into a successful grappler. The Main Event will be directed by Jay Karas and will reportedly also feature WWE Superstars the likes of Kofi Kingston, The Miz and Sheamus.
Zachary Levi Focuses
On Spy Guys
Fresh off his role in Shazam!, Zachary Levi is now setting his sights on
starring in the new action comedy, Spy
Guys, which is currently in
development at New Line. The film seems to tell a tale that Levi may be
familiar with, during his days of playing superspy Chuck in the comedy series. Spy Guys will tell the story on a secret
agent who runs into trouble, resulting in him being forced to recruit some old
college mates to assist him on his mission. Jeff Tomsic, who previously
directed Tag, is set to direct the
film
Cameras Roll For Fast
& Furious 9
It looks like the wheels are finally turning on the new Fast & Furious film. Vin Diesel
shared a video from the set of the production to officially announce that Fast & Furious 9 has begun. Justin
Lin returns to helm the film, which will continue the adventures of Dom and his
crew, minus a notable exception of course in Dwayne Johnson. The action star
has charted his own spinoff with the help of Jason Statham in Hobbs & Shaw,
which will be released later this year. Fast
& Furious 9 however will see John Cena added to the cast along with
regulars Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez.
James Bond 25 Resumes
After star Daniel Craig suffered a leg injury and news of an air-set explosion,
the next James Bond adventure is finally moving along again. Director Cary Joji
Fukunaga is helming the film, which will Craig reunite with stars Jeffery
Wright, who portrays Felix Leiter in the film. Although the plot of the film
remains under wraps, Bond 25 will see
Rami Malek portray the film’s villain with newcomer Lashana Lynch joining the
cast as well. The production recently
shared a set video from the production with Craig in action as the world famous
fictional spy.
George Clooney
Collaborates With Netflix
Streaming giant, Netflix has bagged the services of George Clooney for an
upcoming production. The A-lister will direct and star in Good Morning, Midnight, a direct adaptation of the best-selling
novel by Lily Brooks-Dalton. The story
is set in a post-apocalyptic future, focusing on a scientist in the Artic who
races to make contact with the crew of a spacecraft who is attempting to return
to earth. This will mark Clooney’s first directorial project following Suburbicon from two years ago.
