If you just went “who?”, well we don’t hold it against you because, Lana Condor is a relative unknown. But that will change fairly soon because the young actress has just signed on to portray X-Men member, Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse. The actress is just the latest addition to the franchise, which will revolve around a younger group of mutants, which will reportedly take over the franchise. It’s been reported that both Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence, who portray Beast and Mystique respectively are not signed on for further X-Men films after X-Men: Apocalypse. Jubilee will join younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm in the sequel.
JOHN WILLIAMS SCORES STAR WARS VII
It won’t be a Star Wars film without the great composition of John Williams. And this is why fans should count themselves lucky as the legendary composer is already hard at work penning the soundtrack to the upcoming sequel. According to reports, Williams will be working on the score for The Force Awakens over the next few months, in order to get it complete before the film’s release this December.
RUSSO BROTHERS TACKLE INFINITY WAR
Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors, Joe and Anthony Russo will officially take the helm of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2. The brothers, who will be directing Captain America: Civil War will take over the Avengers franchise from Joss Whedon with production scheduled sometime next year. According to the Marvel/Disney schedule, the two-part Avengers film is slated for a 2018 and 2019 release, which likely means the Russos will have to virtually shoot the Captain America sequel along with the Avengers back-to-back.
VIVICA FOX RETURNS FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY 2
Roland Emmerich is reuniting some familiar faces for the Independence Day sequel. Joining Jeff Goldblum in the sequel will be Vivica Fox who will reprise her role as Jasmine Dubrow in the 1996 film. Fans will recall that Fox portrayed Captain Steven Hiller’s (Will Smith) girlfriend/wife in the original film. It’s widely speculated that with Fox’s inclusion in the film, Independence Day 2 may revolve around Dubrow’s son as it takes place 20 years after the alien invasion seen in ID4.
FIRST LOOK: LEX LUTHOR
We’ve seen the major players for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice already and this week, fans were given a first look at the film’s villain. The first photo release of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was revealed by Warner Bros. Compared to other photo releases we’ve seen thus far, Luthor basically looks like he’s gracing the cover of the latest Esquire. But the good news, Eisenberg is bald, which should appease fans.
