The first Star Wars spinoff has finally got a working title and it’s called Rogue One. Disney made the announcement at a recent shareholder meeting followed by the news of the first cast member who has joined the production, which is none other than Felicity Jones. The standalone Star Wars film will be directed by Gareth Edwards and it is slated for a release at the end of 2016. No details were released regarding the plot or storyline of the film.
SPECTRE’S NEW BOND GIRL
James Bond sure loves his women. In addition to having a bevy of beauties like Naomie Harris, Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux, the latest 007 adventure will also welcome Stephanie Sigman to the cast. “We are pleased to announce that @SigmanStephanie has joined the cast of #SPECTRE as Estrella” came the Tweet on the official James Bond account announcing Sigman’s involvement with the film. The actress is best known for her roles in Miss Bala and Pioneer as well as Eva on FX’s The Bridge.
ZOOLANDER INVADES PARIS FASHION WEEK
It’s been 15 years since we saw Derek Zoolander but now the ‘world’s most famous model’ is returning for a highly-anticipated follow-up to Zoolander. Fittingly to further promote the film, star Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson showed up at the recent Paris Fashion Week in character as Derek and Hansel. The duo not only walked the catwalk but also snapped photos with Anna Wintour herself. The Zoolander appearance wasn’t merely for fun though as Paramount Pictures also announced at the Paris Fashion Week that Zoolander 2 will officially be released on 12 February 2016.
SHOOTING KING ARTHUR
Cameras are rolling on Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Knights of the Round Table feature film. The film is being targeted as a medieval epic, which will hopefully ignite a profitable franchise for Warner Bros. Ritchie shared the first photo from set with Charlie Hunnam who stars as King Arthur himself. Knights of the Round Table also stars Jude Law, Berges-Frisbey, Eric Bana and Djimon Hounsou who will feature as Merlin. The film is expected to hit cinemas sometime middle next year.
GAME OF THRONES S5 TRAILER
It’s shaping up to be an epic season of sorts for HBO’s Game of Thrones based on the recent season 5 trailer alone. Depicting a violent and action-packed setting complete with sword fights, mayhem and one wicked looking dragon, it would seem that HBO has delivered all the right ingredients to satisfy fans. The new season is also where the books and the show will deviate on a separate path, so it should be heavy on surprises especially as the main story arc is set in play whereDaenerys plots to break the wheel of rotating rulers.Game of Thrones Season 5 airs in April on HBO Asia.
