Cult classic B-monster movie, Tremors is set to be rebooted for the small screen at SyFy. A pilot order has been issued at the channel with Kevin Bacon set for a starring role. The pilot will reportedly link back to the original movie which starred Bacon and Fred Ward as two friends who suddenly find themselves up against giant subterranean worms. Tremors has a cult following and its spawn several direct to video follow-ups starring Michael Gross who reprised his role as gun-nut Burt Gummer.
Better Call Saul Renewed
It looks like we’ll see a fourth season to the Breaking Bad prequel series, Better Call Saul. AMC has greenlit another season of the series which focuses on shady lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). Better Call Saul has been a sizeable ratings hit for AMC and with recent episodes now crossing into Breaking Bad territory, fans should be tuning in to see where the show takes them in season 4. They don’t have to wait that long though as the new season of Better Call Saul will air sometime in 2018.
Rosario Dawson Departs New Mutants
The New Mutants, which is currently in development at 20th Century Fox has lost the services of Rosario Dawson. The actress has backed out of the role of Dr. Celia Reyes but she will be replaced by Alice Braga. The New Mutants will begin filming relatively soon to meet its early summer 2018 release. The mutant film will star Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and Henry Zaga stars as young mutants, Wolfsbane, Magik and Sunspot respectively. Josh Boone will serve as director.
Ron Howard Films For Han Solo
After a short hiatus following the departure of Phil Lord and Chris Miller from Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ron Howard is now hard at work putting the finishing touches on the movie. The Academy Award winning director is now in London filming tweeted an image from the set claiming to have filmed a cool scene for the upcoming Star Wars film. With Howard on the case, it looks like Han Solo: A Star Wars Story will meet its scheduled release date in 2018.
Wonder Woman Breaks DCEU Record
It looks like Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman is about to be DC’s Extended Universe most successful film to date. In the US alone, the standalone film has surpassed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad to be the new king of the hill in the DCEU. Wonder Woman, which has garnered over USD330 million at the US Box-Office alone is slowly moving up the worldwide box-office as well and is just a couple of hundred million away from surpassing Dawn of Justice’s USD873 million grand total.
