Fans of XXX should be happy to know that the latest film in the franchise, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage has officially wrapped production. Star, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to make the announcement with a stunning photo of him underwater with a dirt bike. “That’s a wrap for XxX… Proud of the cast and crew for making magic. Xander”, posted Diesel. A direct sequel to XXX, the film will see Xander Cage return from a self-imposed exile to fight a new villain who is developing an unstoppable weapon. The Return of Xander Cage is due out in January 2017.
Ewan McGregor Joins Fargo
The third season of the hit FX Anthology series, Fargo will feature a major boost with the inclusion of Ewan McGregor. The Trainspotting and Star Wars star has officially been confirmed as a lead in the upcoming season and he’ll be playing double duty portraying brothers. Fans of McGregor will undoubtedly revel in the opportunity of seeing him play two distinctive characters, who are central figures in the third season of Fargo.
Netflix-Disney Tie-Up
Internet television is stepping into a new era thanks to a recent deal involving Netflix and Disney. The world’s premiere streaming channel has signed a deal with Disney to become the exclusive U.S. subscription TV service for first-run live-action and animated films from The Walt Disney Studios. That includes all 2016 theatrical releases including films from Disney, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Disneynature, and Lucasfilm which will be made exclusively available on Netflix immediately following each film’s release on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Rila Fukushima Joins Ghost in the Shell
The upcoming Manga adaptation of Ghost in the Shell finally has some major Japanese star power. Rila Fukushima who previously starred in The Wolverine and featured in the Arrow TV series as Katana will portray a yet-to-be-named character in the film. Fukushima will feature in the film alongside star, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Pitt, Beat Takeshi Kitano and Juliette Binoche. Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which will be released in March 2017.
Hobbs Gets A New Look
Cameras are rolling on the new Fast & Furious 8 film and Dwayne Johnson has provided a first look at his character, Hobbs from the set. From the first reveal, it seems as if Officer Luke Hobbs has gone through a transition and is looking meaner than ever. The action star shared the photo on Facebook with a message that read, “When you strip a man of all he has. All that’s important to him. You force him to return to his roots.. and sometimes that’s a very dangerous and twisted place.” Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled to open in April 2017.
