Spurred on by the success of The LEGO Movie, even more childhood toy brands are being made into movies. The latest of which happens to be one based on Play-Doh, which is reportedly being developed at 20th Century Fox. The idea of a modelling clay movie sounds isn’t as ludicrous as it sounds because it’s attracted the interest of Paul Feig. “We’re moving forward [with the film]… My company was approached by Hasbro with this property and at first I was like, ‘How do you make a Play-Doh movie?’ and then I was like, ‘Wait, its coloured clay. It’s Claymation!’, said the director. Gumby meets Bridesmaids? We’re down with that.
TMNT MOBILE REVEALED
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will begin production soon and the good news is Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael will be getting a new set of wheels for the sequel. Michael Bay teased the new TMNT mobile, which is a modified garbage truck emblazoned with ‘Tartaruga Brothers’, which means ‘Turtle Brothers’ in Italian. Bay also revealed a photo of the Polaris Slingshot, which is rumoured to be Casey Jones’ (Stephen Amell) ride in the film.
THE COCA-COLA MOVIE
Believe it or not but there’s a Coca-Cola movie in the works based onThomas Oliver’s book The Real Coke, The Real Story. According to reports the film will centre on the beverage giant’s failed attempt at launching New Coke, which was spurred on by the Cola Wars with Pepsi. The adaptation will tell how Coca-Cola buckled under pressure to create New Coke, which spectacularly failed to catch on with consumers. The screenplay is currently being adapted by Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
TV’S LEAGUE OF HEROES
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will see some of DC’s biggest heroes team-up but the ‘superfriends’ will first get together on the small screen in an episode of The Flash. As the hit CW series winds out its first season, the Scarlett Speedster will run out in grand fashion with a few of his friends and foes. The penultimate episodes of The Flash titled ‘Grood Lives’ and ‘Rogue Air’ will see The Flash hook up with Arrow as well as Firestorm to combat a group of super powered foes. It airs in the U.S. beginning next week.
JUSTIN BIEBER JOINS ZOOLANDER 2
You heard it true ‘beliebers’, pop sensation Justin Bieber has joined Zoolander 2. We’re not sure if he’s playing a character or himself, but it should be interesting to see how Ben Stiller will make this one work. Stiller made the announcement on his Instagram page showing Derek Zoolander and Bieber in a stare/pose down. The pop star is just the latest big name to join the upcoming sequel, which also includes Owen Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Kristen Wiig and Olivia Munn.
