The Equalizer is getting another reboot this time for the small screen. CBS has remade the series and recruited Queen Latifah to star as Robyn McCall. The new series will evidently be based on the most recent films starring Denzel Washington. The Equalizer as initially a hit 80s series, which ran from 1985 to 1989. The new series will premiere in early February, and stick to the same storyline, with Latifah playing a vigilante of sorts. Joining Latifah in the new series is Adam Goldberg and Chris Noth.

Lucille Ball Biopic In The Works

Aaron Sorkin is developing a new Lucille Ball biopic, which will follow the life of the legendary comedian. Being the Ricardos charts the rise of Ball, who was a darling of 60s television. The biopic is scouting Nicole Kidman to portray Ball with Javier Bardem tapped to play her husband Desi Arnaz. The husband-and-wife duo led the hit series, I Love Lucy, which will be the centrepiece of the new biopic. Being the Ricardos is in development at Amazon Studios.

First Look: The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard

The sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard will arrive this year. The film, titled The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard will reunite Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds who will reprise their roles as global assassin, Darius Kincaid and his bodyguard, Michael Bryce. The film will focus on Kincaid’s wife, played by Salma Hayek and will feature Antonio Banderas as the villain. Patrick Hughes returns to direct the film with Gary Oldman and Élodie Yung in supporting roles.

Warner Bros. To Reboot Willy Wonka

Prepare for more Oompa Loompas because Willy Wonka will return. Warner Bros. is prepping to reboot the Roald Dahl story with Tom Holland and Timothee Chalamet eyed for the lead. The Willy Wonka story has been brought to life before with Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp playing the owner of the fictional Chocolate Factory. The new Willy Wonka film is said to be a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel. The film is due to be released in 2023.

Sony Animation’s Connected Will Go To Netflix

The Sony Animation feature, Connected, will now air on Netflix after the streamer acquired the production. From producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film centres on an everyday family who must contend with a technological uprising. The animated feature has also undergone a name change and will be titled The Mitchells vs. The Machines. Lending their voices to the characters of the animated adventure are Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, and Maya Rudolph. Netflix will release The Mitchells vs. The Machines sometime this year.
