Warner Bros. has unveiled the first official image from the upcoming all-female heist film, Ocean’s 8. The photo sees the cast members, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and more riding the New York Subway. The film, which is a spinoff from the Ocean’s Eleven franchise, sees Bullock portraying Danny Ocean’s sister who orchestrates a plan to execute a heist in New York. The cast also includes Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling.
Nina Dobrev Returns To The Vampire Diaries
No finale is complete without a proper send off by one if its biggest stars and this is why Nina Dobrev is making her return to The Vampire Diaries. The actress will reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in Episode 16 of season eight of the series. Dobrev left the CW series at the end of Season 6 with her character suffering a coma. The series finale of The Vampire Diaries is slated to air on The CW on 10 March 2017.
Peter Capaldi To Leave Doctor Who
The search for a new Doctor Who is about to begin following the news that Peter Capaldi, the current star of the BBC series will call it quits following the 2017 Christmas special. The news does come as a bit of a shock to fans as current show runner Steven Moffat is also departing the hit series at the end of this year. Capaldi is the 12th incarnation of the Doctor and has taken on the mantle of the character since 2013.
Cameras Roll On Han Solo
The standalone Star Wars film, Han Solo has officially begun production. Co-director Chris Miller shared the first set photo in a recent Tweet. Miller is co-directing the Star Wars spinoff with Phil Lord, which will be an origins tale. Alden Ehrenreich is starring as the younger version of the titular character with Donald Glover portraying a young Lando Calrissian. Also featuring in the film are Woody Harrelson, who plays Han’s mentor Garris Shrike and Emilia Clarke.
Avatar Sequel Scripts Are Done
It looks like we’ll be getting more Avatar films in the next several years now that James Cameron has confirmed that the scripts to the sequel are now finished. The director also claims that the next instalment to the franchise will begin filming in August this year. According to the director, he isn’t just focusing on Avatar 2 but subsequent sequels as well, which will all but ensure that audiences will be transported back to Pandora over and over again. Avatar is currently the top dog at the box office, so these sequels will certainly have big shoes to fill.
