20th Century Fox has released the newest X-Men: Apocalypse trailer and it looks to be the biggest and baddest X-Men film yet. The new trailer sees Professor X’s team take on a new and powerful villain, which may well spell the end of humanity. Interestingly, the trailer showcases the main players of this mutant battle royale including new additions like Archangel and Psylocke as well as fan-favourites like Nightcrawler, Storm and Quicksilver.
Marvel’s Luke Cage
Another highly-anticipated Netflix-Marvel series will debut later this year. Luke Cage will see Mike Colter reprise his role as Marvel’s strongman in his own standalone series. Marvel’s Luke Cage is expected to debut at the end of September this year. The character made his debut in season one of Marvel’s Jessica Jones and is expected to portray the unbreakable hero as a fugitive who is battling to rebuild his life in New York City.
The CW renews its superhero line-up
Good news for superhero fans of the small screen because The CW has just renewed its slate of small screen superhero series on the network. Hit series, Arrow will be returning for a fifth season and it will be joined by The Flash who sprints towards season three. Ensemble superhero series, Legends of Tomorrow, which has been bolstered by good ratings and feedback, is also back for a second season. Superhero series aside, mainstay CW staples such as Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and iZombie have also been renewed as well.
Batman v Superman Watch
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice about to be released in cinemas, the numerous tie-ups are slowly being highlighted. One of the coolest tie-ins though has been put together by Police, which has unveiled the face of their limited edition Batman watch to true super hero fans. To celebrate the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in cinemas March 25th, Police has created two limited edition Batman and Superman watches, exclusively for super hero fans. Only 2400 of these timepieces will be presented in their unique gift boxes.
First Look: The Killing Joke
Batman: The Killing Joke is arguably one of comics’ best ever stories. Written by Alan Moore, the comic book shook the Bat-Universe to its core when the Joker abducts Commissioner Gordon and brutally assaults his daughter Barbara. Now, an animated movie based on the comic book is being made and it will also reunite two stars who voiced the key characters in the classic Batman Animated series. Both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill who voiced Batman and Joker respectively are returning to voice their characters in what is expected to be an R-rated animated film.
