The upcoming sequel to Top Gun has found the actor to play the son of Goose, who was the trusty wingman of Tom Cruise’s Maverick. Miles Teller will join the production playing the character, which will have a big role to play as Maverick’s protégé. Teller reportedly beat Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell for the role. Also returning to Top Gun 2 is Val Kilmer, who will reprise his role as Iceman. The sequel will reportedly revolve around the use of Drone technology.
It Chapter Two Cast Unite
The sequel to IT is currently in production and Warner Bros. has put out a new image, which shows the cast of the film together. It Chapter Two is not short on star power with Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader playing adult versions of the kids from the Losers Club. Bill Skarsgard will also return as Pennywise. The sequel takes place 27 years after the first film with the kids who are now adults returning to their hometown when It reappears. It Chapter Two arrives in cinemas in September 2019.
I Am the Night
TNT has revealed the first trailer for its new upcoming limited series; I Am the Night starring Chris Pine. The six-episode drama tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Pine plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo. The first two episodes were directed by Patty Jenkins. I Am the Night premieres in January 2019.
Scarlett Johansson Reteams With Rupert Sanders
Although their creative partnership for Ghost in the Shell did not reap rewards at the box-office, Scarlett Johansson will once again reteam with director Rupert Sanders for the drama Rug & Tug. The film, which will be produced by New Regency, is a 70s massage parlour drama revolving around Jean Marie Gill, a larger than life character, who rose to power by building an empire of illicit massage parlours and prostitution. Johansson is currently filming Jojo Rabbit with Taika Waititi and she will also be seen next in May 2019 in Avengers 4 reprising her role as Black Widow.
John Wick 3 Gets A Title
The John Wick franchise will likely come to a close following the end of the trilogy, which will arrive in cinemas in 2019. Following the events of John Wick: Chapter 2, the storyline for the film will see the titular hero on the run as he has been labelled ‘Excommunicado’ by The High Table. Star, Keanu Reeves recently revealed the official title of the new film, which will be titled John Wick: Parabellum and it will involve Wick going to war with the world of hitmen as he fights his way out of New York City.
Keri Russell Joins Star Wars
The star of The Americans, Keri Russell has joined Star Wars: Episode IX for some ‘action-heavy’ scenes according to a report in Variety. Russell is the first major addition to the film, which is currently being put together by J.J. Abrams. Both Abrams and Russell have worked together before on the series, Felicity as well as Mission: Impossible III. Production for Star Wars: Episode IX will begin next month with a December 2019 release date. Russell will star alongside Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega in the film.
