Assassin’s Creed is teasing to be one of next year’s biggest movies, with Michael Fassbender in the lead as a deadly assassin. Based on the hit video game, Assassin’s Creed will see Fassbender portray Callum Lynch, a descendant of the Secret Assassin’s Society. Reliving memories of his 15th Century ancestor via a genetic link, he soon learns and develops immense fighting skills, which helps him battle the powerful Templar organisation in the present day. Starring alongside Fassbender in Assassin’s Creed is Marion Cotillard. The film is slated for release next November.
xXx 3 With Vin Diesel
Action star Vin Diesel is hinting at a new sequel for the xXx franchise. The actor sent out a cryptic Instagram post that read: “While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel… The time to return has come. Filming starts December in the Philippines. #ILiveForThisShit”. Could this be the official announcement of Xander Cage’s return on the big screen? Diesel made the extreme sports/ espionage actioner a hit in 2002, which spawned a sequel xXx: State of the Union, which starred Ice Cube. We’re not sure if Diesel is jumping the gun on the announcement or just having a little fun but it remains to be seen if this action project is officially green lit in the coming weeks.
Lea Seydoux Wanted For Gambit
20th Century Fox is scouting for a female lead to star opposite Channing Tatum in Gambit and it looks like they are already leaning towards one particular actress. Sources claim that Lea Seydoux is being scouted for the role of Bella Boudreaux, who could be Gambit’s romantic interest for the X-Men spinoff. In the comic books, Boudreaux was the daughter of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild leader. Seydoux will be seen in the upcoming Bond sequel, SPECTRE, slated for release this November.
Jon Stewart Gets An Attitude Adjustment
Many wondered what Jon Stewart would be up to after his Daily Show career and we now know that he’s tipped his toe into the realm of the WWE. Stewart has been featured in the WWE before and is a life-long fan but he’s stepped up his pro-wrestling game by not only hosting Summerslam on Sunday but also getting involved physically in one of the championship bouts, striking US Champ John Cena with a steel chair. A day later, Stewart received a memento for his actions when Cena appeared in an in-ring segment to deliver an Attitude Adjustment to the former host. Let’s see if Stewart will extend his WWE shenanigans to a lengthier stint in the coming months.
Sons of Anarchy Spin-Off
It looks as if Kurt Sutter is ready to rev up one more time for the small screen with a spin-off of Sons of Anarchy. The FX series based on the motorcycle club was a huge ratings pull for the channel and it’s certainly not surprising why an idea for a spin-off is being mooted. Reportedly, the Sons of Anarchy spin-off may not focus on the shenanigans of SAMCRO but possibly their rivals, The Mayans. Is a prequel tale on Jax’s dad too much to ask?
