Pennywise the Clown will return next year in a new adaptation based on the Stephen King novel. It will now be played by Bill Skarsgard and it looks like New Line has made the new version of the characters a whole lot more demonic than before. Tim Curry previously played the supernatural entity, which takes on the form of a clown in the original film. The new It film will be directed Andy Muscietti and is expected to be broken into two parts, one which depicts the characters in the film as kids and later as adults. It is scheduled for a release in September 2017.
Cody Rhodes Joins Arrow S5
Former WWE star Cody Rhodes will be featuring in Arrow S5, which will likely ‘continue’ his feud with star Stephen Amell on the hit CW superhero series. Previously performing under the moniker of Stardust, Rhodes and Amell both locked horns in a tag-team match at WWE Summerslam. Taking into account the behind the scenes relationship between Rhodes and Amell, his appearance on Arrow S5 could be more than just a one-time deal. Previously, former WWE star Edge secured a guest spot on an episode of The Flash S2 as well. Could more be following suit?
Battlefield The Video Game
The invasion of video game adaptations continue, this time around its Battlefield, which will see the EA first-person shooter game hit the small screen. Paramount Television has secured the rights to the game, and they’ve voiced plans to turn it into a TV series sometime down the road. “EA’s Battlefield has an incredibly dynamic narrative, coupled with a loyal fan base, which will allow us to bring this exciting and unique property to the small screen,” said Amy Powell, President, Paramount TV of the new project.
First Look: Kid Flash
The CW Series, The Flash is slowly peeling back the layers of the DC universe, revealing cool and recognisable characters. The upcoming third season of the superhero series will see the arrival of a character that has close ties to the Scarlett Speedster. As seen in season 2, the introduction of Wally West has paved the way for Kid Flash to appear in the upcoming season. In the comic books, West eventually becomes The Flash, taking over the mantle from Barry Allen. The Flash S3 is slated to return in October on The CW.
First Look: Walking Dead S7
Fans can’t get enough of the Walking Dead, and in order to whet the appetites of viewers even more, AMC has released the first image from the upcoming season. Walking Dead S7 sees main antagonist, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) picking up where he left off from S6’s finale. With questions being raised on which member of Rick’s crew will bite the dust courtesy of the villain’s barbed wire bat, the new image does serve to literally hit home the anticipation even more. Walking Dead S7 will premiere in October 2016.
