The iconic nanny makes her return with a new instalment of the story of Mary Poppins. This time around, Emily Blunt takes on the mantle of the titular character, which takes place years after the original film with Michael and Jane all grown up. Joining Poppins on this new adventure are a host of new characters played by Meryl Streep and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The first photo release shows Blunt in her fully nanny get-up and we have to say; she certainly does look the part. Mary Poppins Returns comes to cinemas in December 2018.
Star Wars Rebels Season 4
Looks like there will be more Star Wars adventures to keep fans occupied in the next several years. The intergalactic franchise has shown no signs of slowing down following multiple projects on both the small and big screen. On Disney XD, hit animated series, Star Wars Rebels will continue for another season, ensuring an unprecedented fourth season for the series. This could make for interesting stories, which can tie into the extended Star Wars cinematic universe especially for the standalone films being planned at Disney.
First Look: Fargo Season 3
FX has released the first look at the upcoming season of Fargo. The Noah Hawley series will boast the talents of Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead and will focus on two brothers. McGregor will be portraying two roles in Fargo Season 3, with Winstead as his partner in crime. Joining both of them in the new series is Carrie Coon. Fargo Season 3 premieres in mid-April on FX.
Spielberg To Direct Streep And Hanks
Three Oscar winning talents are set to collaborate on a new film project. Steven Spielberg will direct both Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a film based on the real-life events of the Washington Post’s expose of the Pentagon Papers regarding the Vietnam War. Spielberg will direct both Hanks and Streep in the film. The Post is currently in development with no release date given as yet.
Jason Isaacs Captains The USS Discovery
British actor, Jason Isaacs has joined a long list of actors who have captain starships in the Star Trek universe. Isaacs has officially joined the upcoming TV production, Star Trek: Discovery to portray Captain Lorca, the man helming the starship Discovery. The new Trek series will debut on CBS All Access streaming service and will reportedly air sometime in late September 2017. Star Trek: Discovery also stars Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp with Michelle Yeoh and Shazad Latif.
