Jean-Claude Van Damme’s classic actioner, Kickboxer is heading to the cinemas as part of a reboot treatment titled, Kickboxer Vengeance. Interestingly, the film will see Dave Bautista in the lead villain role as the deadly killer fighter, Tong Po. Bautista is expected to face off against Kurt Sloane, a fighter, which was portrayed by Van Damme himself in the classic. If you’re wondering if the action legend is making an appearance portraying a character called Master Durand.
Van Helsing Reboot
The Hugh Jackman supernatural monster hunt actioner, Van Helsing is due for a reboot soon and it looks set to be small screen adaptation for SyFy. Going to television isn’t the only change the series will incur as it’s speculated that the main protagonist may be gender swapped for a new audience. This interpretation could mean that the new Van Helsing treatment may well take place in a new timeline if it comes to fruition.
Six Billion Dollar Man Due 2017
The remake of the Six Million Dollar Man TV series is due to be released in December 2017 according to TWC-Dimension. The big screen reboot, which is titled Six Billion Dollar Man (adjusted for inflation) will star Mark Wahlberg as the bionic hero. Those of you young enough to remember will recall that the series starred Lee Majors as Steve Austin, a military man who is thrust into a top secret government human-cybernetic enhancement program after a horrific accident leaves him for dead.
Greatest American Hero Moves Ahead
It looks like another TV remake is on the horizon with the reboot for the Greatest American Hero. The remake of the 80s series has been greenlit for a pilot with LEGO Movie directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller serving as producer with Rick Famuyiwa directing. The Greatest American Hero revolved around a high school teacher that was handed a super powered suit by aliens allowing him extraordinary abilities.
Michael Moore Documentary Gets R Rating
Controversial documentary filmmaker Michael Moore’s latest effort has been handed an R rating by the MPAA and he’s not too happy about it. The film, Where to Invade Next sees the filmmaker as an ‘invader’ who goes to several countries to steal their ideas. According to the MPAA the film was handed the R rating due to language, violent images, drug use and brief graphic nudity. Moore is appealing the rating.
