Universal Revamps Its Monsters Universe
It looks like Universal has scrapped its plans for a shared monster universe. The studio was reportedly keen on executing a dark universe franchise, which would tie-in film monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. They even got the ball rolling with The Mummy starring Tom Cruise. However the dismal returns at the box-office has apparently forced Universal to rethink its strategy. Now it’s being reported that Leigh Whannell has been tapped to direct a new film based on the Invisible Man. Johnny Depp was previously attached to star in the film, but those plans may have been scrapped as well.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 First Look
Although some of Marvel’s smaller screen properties are facing the axe,Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be doing rather fine. The series will begin its sixth season sometime in mid-2019 with a seventh slated for 2020. The ABC series will continue apparently without Agent Phil Coulson, who’s apparently dead. But judging by this new first look at the upcoming season, no one is really sure who bites the dust and who doesn’t in the Marvel Universe. The 13-episode season six of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs later this year.
