Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson headline Netflix’s new drama, The Devil All the Time, which is an adaptation of the 2011 novel by Donald Ray Pollock. Directed by Antonio Campos, the film sees Holland portray a young man who has to bear the weight of family trauma whilst weathering the highs and lows of the mid-20th century. The film, which also stars Sebastian Stan, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Eliza Scanlen, and Haley Bennett, is set to premiere on the streaming platform in mid-September.

The Rock Buys The XFL
After going bankrupt, the XFL has found new ownership in Dwayne Johnson who has
purchased the beleaguered league for USD15 million. Johnson together with
business partners, Dany Garcia and Redbird Capital are now the new owners of
the XFL. The XFL, which is the brainchild of Vince McMahon, who once employed
The Rock in the WWE, has had trouble getting off the ground twice in its not so
illustrious history. However, Johnson
has promised to create something special for fans of American Football,
following the acquisition.

The King’s Man Has
Connections To Kingsman 3
In a recent interview with Matthew Vaughn, the director updated fans on some
news regarding the prequel film, The King’s Man. According to
Vaughn, the film will have a connection to the next instalment of the Kingsman
franchise stating that ‘seeds’ have been planted for the threequel’s storyline.
The King’s Man, starring Ralph Fiennes, Djimon Hounsou and Gemma
Arterton, is set for release in September. The film will reveal the origins of
the super-secret spy organisation and their involvement in a plot set during
World War 1.

Mimic TV Reboot In The
Works
Paul W.S. Anderson will produce a TV remake of sci-fi horror film, Mimic for Miramax Television. A cult
classic amongst horror fans, Mimic told the story of a mutant giant insect that
threatens humanity. The original film, based on a short story, was directed by
Guillermo del Toro in 1997 and featured Mira Sorvino in the lead. At this
present point of time, Mimic will be a planned TV series with Anderson
serving as producer and possibly directing the pilot episode.

Tom Hanks Signs On For Pinocchio
Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks will apparently reunite for the live-action take
of Pinocchio, which is currently in the works at Disney. According to
reports, Hanks will play Geppetto in the film. Disney has been developing a
string of live-action properties in recent times so this news isn’t all that
surprising. What is though is that securing the talents of both Zemeckis and
Hanks will undoubtedly elevate the production somewhat. The duo previously
collaborated on both Forrest Gump and
The Polar Express, two
critically-acclaimed films.
