Bar any delays, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune will head to cinemas by the end of the year. In anticipation of the Sci-Fi reboot, Warner Bros. has released a first look image from the production, featuring Timothee Chalamet. Principal photography of Frank Herbert’s science-fiction epic wrapped last year, so Dune should stick to its official release date in December. Dune will see Chalamet playing Paul Atreides, the lead character in the film. The first image shared by Warner Bros sees Atreides on his home planet of Caladan. Chalamet will also be joined by a stellar cast made up off Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista.

Netflix and Boom! Studios Strike A Deal
Prepare for more comic book adaptations from Netflix as the streaming giant has just inked a partnership deal with Boom! Studios. The comic book publisher is renowned for its titles such as Mouse Guard and Lumberjanes. Together with its acquisition of Millarworld, which own titles such as Kingsman and Kick-Ass, and Netflix should have no problems filling in the gap of comic book adaptations and superhero flicks for some time to come. Best of all it also tees up the streaming giant to compete with more established studios such as Disney and WarnerMedia who own Marvel and DC respectively.

Agent Carter Character To Return In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will see a familiar character return to the television screen. Agent Daniel Sousa played by Enver Gjokaj from the Agent Carter series will appear in season seven of the ABC series. Returning to television screens in late May in the U.S., the Marvel series will see the Agents time-travelling back to New York in the early 1930s where they cross paths with Sousa. Gjokaj played the character of Agent Sousa for two seasons on Agent Carter, which ended its run in 2016.

Stellan Skarsgård Joins Rogue One Prequel Series
The Disney+ Rogue One prequel series has signed on Stellan Skarsgård to the cast. The Star Wars series has also secured the services of British actor, Kyle Soller. The series will follow Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor character prior to the events of Rogue One. Also returning from the film is Alan Tudyk who will reprise the role of scene-stealing droid, K-2S0. The series was originally set to air in 2021, joining a number of other live-action Star Wars shows on the Disney streaming service such as The Mandalorian and a series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor.

J.J. Abrams To Tackle Justice League Dark
The live-action adaptation of DC Comics series, Justice League Dark is headed to the small screen. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company will be producing the series, which will air on Warner Bros streaming platform HBO Max. The property was originally set to be a big-screen adaptation but those plans were scuppered following the retooling of the DCEU. Justice League Dark is a darker version of the superhero team, made up off characters such as John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman and Zatanna. It was previously adapted into a feature-length animation at Warner Bros Animation.
