Queen fans will be delighted with this first look at the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. The first photo release sees actor Rami Malek channelling the late great frontman rather well. Perhaps its good photography or a great angle, but it must be said, the Mr Robot star’s resemblance to Freddie Mercury is downright uncanny. Bohemian Rhapsody is being directed by Bryan Singer and is set for release on December 25, 2018.
Paul Bettany Joins Han Solo
Ron Howard has called on one of his long time collaborators to star in the Han Solo movie. Paul Bettany, who previously starred in Howard’s Da Vinci Code and A Beautiful Mind, will portray a character that resides in the Outer Rim. The British actor comes in to replace Michael K. Williams who had to depart the project due to reshoots. This is the latest change in the Han Solo standalone film, following the departure of directors Phil Lord & Chris Miller. Nevertheless the film is not expected to be delayed in anyway.
Shia LaBeouf Not Returning For Indiana Jones 5
Despite having a co-starring role in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Shia LaBeouf will not be a part of the next instalment of the franchise. LaBeouf, who was once Hollywood’s hottest young prospects, will not have a part to play in Indiana Jones 5. The sequel, which is still in development, will apparently move ahead with a new storyline. Crystal Skull saw LaBeouf portray Indiana Jones’ son, Mutt, and the film teased a continuity of sorts with the character at the end of the film.
Angelina Jolie Returns As Maleficent
Despite being off camera in recent years, Angelina Jolie is nevertheless preparing a return to acting soon. Not surprisingly, the actress is looking to reprise her role as Maleficent in the sequel to the smash hit Disney film. The sequel has been planned for a while following Maleficent’s impressive box-office haul when it was released in 2014. Jolie’s announcement should speed up the process for the sequel, which is currently in development. No further details or casting has been named as yet.
First Look: Skyscraper
Dwayne Johnson took to social media to share the first look for his upcoming actioner, Skyscraper which is currently in production. The action star leads the cast of the Legendary Films production starring as a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran who assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. Skyscraper is scheduled to open in July 2018.
