There will be no shortage of shark movies in the next few years especially with Deep Blue Sea 2 now in production. The sequel to the cult classic is currently being filmed in Africa with a story revolving once again around genetically engineered Bull Sharks. However no returning cast members have been named for the sequel. In the original film, only Thomas Jane and LL Cool J’s characters survived the onslaught of genetically engineered sharks after a storm destroyed their top secret sea lab.
Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3D
James Cameron is putting the finishing touches to a 4K 3D conversion of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The film, which has gone on to become a cult classic and one of the most successful films in the series will be re-released in cinemas for audiences to relive the action of the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic with the added benefit of 3D. The film, which is currently undergoing a 4K conversion, will find its way to US cinemas in late August this year. No word yet, if Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3D will be released in Malaysian cinemas.
New Additions To Luke Cage Season 2
Marvel’s Luke Cage has added a couple of new faces for its upcoming season. Scheduled to join season two of the Netflix series are Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis. According to official reports, Sakir will be playing John McIver, a man whose vision is centred on Harlem and violence. Dennis on the other hand will play a holistic doctor who has a complicated history. Luke Cage season 2 is due to begin production soon but fans will see the hero soon enough on Marvel’s The Defenders, which is due this August.
Assassin’s Creed Anime Series
Despite the Assassin’s Creed adaptation, starring Michael Fassbender, fizzling at the box-office, Ubisoft is still adamant about cashing in on the franchise. The video game giant is looking to press on with an animated series. Ubisoft may well have been influenced by the Castlevania series, which is currently on Netflix, and it should be a cost effective exercise that may well pay dividends when it comes to promoting their games as well. The Assassin’s Creed anime series is currently in development.
Andy Garcia Joins My Dinner with Herve
The upcoming biopic/ drama on pint-sized actor Herve Villechaize, titled My Dinner with Herve, has secured the services of Andy Garcia. The actor will be portraying Ricardo Montalban in the film. Both Montalban and Villechaize were stars of the hit series Fantasy Island. Peter Dinklage is playing the dwarf actor who committed suicide in 1993. My Dinner with Herve revolves around the actor who formed a bond with struggling journalist Danny Tate.
