Christian Bale has just signed on to star as Enzo Ferrari is Michael Mann’s Ferrari biopic, which is due in 2018. According to reports the film will be a biopic based on the life of Enzo Ferrari (Christian Bale), who started out as a driver for Alfa Romeo in the mid-20s before leaving to kick-start his own car company. The film will take place in 1957, when Ferrari enjoyed some of its and worse moments in its history. The Ferrari biopic was rumoured for some time but the project had failed to materialise with numerous directors such as Sydney Pollack tapped to helm the film in recent years.
Riley’s First Date?
Pixar Animation Studios is heading back inside the mind with an all-new short in Riley’s First Date?. The announcement was made at the D23 EXPO with director Josh Cooley, along with Inside Out filmmakers Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera, introducing the short, which revisits Riley, now 12. “Riley’s First Date? ventures into the minds of Riley’s parents when a mysterious boy shows up at the front door,” said Cooley. “Having a daughter myself, it was a lot of fun to mine my own feelings to show this emotional time in a parent’s life.” The short will be included as a bonus feature in the digital HD & Blu-ray releases of Disney·Pixar’s Inside Out, which will be available digitally Oct. 13 and on Blu-ray Nov. 3, 2015.
SPECTRE Characters Revealed
The latest vlog from the set of SPECTRE provided some details behind Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci’s characters in the film. The vlog also contained some footage to offer viewers a glimpse of the roles these actresses play. Mendes said, “In SPECTRE, the two women who Bond hooks up with, both have great mystery, they both have depths and for that you need fantastic actresses.” Regarding her character, Léa Seydoux said, “She’s a doctor, she’s intelligent and very sensitive…” About her character, Monica Bellucci adds, “She’s an Italian widow with secrets.”
Shakira in Zootopia
International superstar Shakira is lending her Grammy®-winning voice to Gazelle, the biggest pop star in Zootopia, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature. The animated feature also stars Ginnifer Goodwin as the voice of the film’s rookie rabbit officer Judy Hopps and will feature the song, ‘Try Everything’, which was written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, and performed by Shakira herself. “For the role of Gazelle, Zootopia’s most beloved superstar, there was only one person on our wish list: Shakira,” said directors Byron Howard. Luckily for us, she said yes. Her immense talent and charm bring Gazelle and her song to life. Zootopia is slated for release in March 2016.
Daredevil S2 Costume
It looks like Matt Murdock is finally adopting his iconic red suit for the upcoming season of Daredevil. The Netflix series will likely see the heroic vigilante trade his black costume for the more recognisable red suit from the comic books. The Netflix series will offer more comic book tie-ins with the arrival of Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) as well as the mystical order known as The Hand. Cameras have already begun to roll on Daredevil S2, which will put it on track for its debut in April 2016.
