Oscar winning director, Ang Lee is back behind the camera for the action thriller, Gemini Man. The film tells the story of an elite assassin who becomes the target of a mysterious man, who is later revealed to be the younger version of him. The lead role will belong to Will Smith, who will portray both characters with the aid of digital technology. Gemini Man also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, and Benedict Wong and is expected to arrive in cinemas in October 2019.
Jungle Cruise Storyline
The upcoming Jungle Cruise film starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will have a supernatural feel to it according to recent reports. The film, which is based on the beloved Disneyland theme park ride, will see Johnson playing a riverboat captain who may be immortal. Blunt will reportedly play a scientist, who boards the riverboat in the hopes of finding the Tree of Life, a mythical plant that boast healing and curative powers. Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the film, which will be released in summer 2019.

2019 will see the end of the hit series Game of Thrones. In the run-up to the Licensing Expo 2018, HBO revealed the promotional poster that confirms the fact. Game of Thrones has been a huge ratings hit for HBO. The critically-acclaimed fantasy TV series based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series has gone on for eight spectacular seasons. As such it is not surprising to hear that HBO is planning on expanding the GoT universe with a possible prequel in the near future.
Netflix Plans 700 Movies, Series
Streaming giant Netflix is going all out to ensure its subscribers are not short on content to watch on their smart devices. The company has announced that it’s going to produce roughly 700 original TV shows and movies this year alone. Reports claim that this original content, which will stream exclusively on the platform, will cost Netflix over USD8billion. The move could pay off as Netflix currently has 117.6 million subscribers worldwide. Having more original content may well grow that number.
X-Men Movies Planned At FOX
Despite going bought over by Disney, 20th Century Fox is still hard at work milking its X-Men franchise. This year alone will see the studio release Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants next year. It is widely speculated that FOX will develop an X-Force film followed by the long-gestating Gambit standalone film for 2019/2020. The studio is also reportedly developing a Silver Surfer film as well as a Doctor Doom project, which are part of the Fantastic Four franchise.
