    The Weekly Wrap: Andy Serkis’ Jungle Book Moves Ahead

    Although it was initially pencilled in for an earlier release, Warner Bros is finally looking to move ahead with its Jungle Book movie with Andy Serkis. The adaptation has been in development for several years with Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch attached to the project. The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. The film, officially titled, Mowgli will arrive in theatres in October 2018.

    IT Director’s Cut Arrives Next Year
    IT_ClownYou can’t keep Pennywise the clown down. Following announcements that a sequel has been greenlit for 2019, there will now be a Director’s Cut for IT scheduled for release in 2018. This should provide fans with ample dose of horror before IT: Chapter Two scares its way back into cinemas in September the following year. Fans should also keep a look out for the Blu-Ray release of the film scheduled for release in January 2018 which will feature Behind the Scenes featurettes such as ‘Pennywise Lives!’, ‘The Losers’ Club’ as well as several deleted scenes.

    New Cast For Narcos Season 4
    michael_penaThe fourth season of Narcos will see two new additions join the hit Netflix series. Following the finale of season three, which hints of Pena’s retirement, the show will now focus on a new setting with a pair of new leads. According to official reports, both Michael Peña and Diego Luna are joining the Netflix series, which is set to debut in 2018. Narcos Season 4 will primarily be based in Mexico, focusing once again on the drug cartels and the drug business. No word yet on who both Peña and Luna will be playing in the series.

    Fantastic Beasts 2 New Image
    fantastic_beasts_new_imageIt looks like bosom buddies, Newt Scamander and Jacob Kowalski will reunite in the upcoming sequel to Fantastic Beasts. The photo release, which appears in Total Film, sees the wizard and muggle together on the streets of Paris. David Yates is directing the sequel, titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The film will also see Johnny Depp star as the sinister Gellert Grindelwald. The Fantastic Beasts sequel is due to arrive in cinemas in November 2018.

    Stargate Origins
    stargate_originsThere’s a new Stargate series coming, which is essentially a prequel series involving the discovery of the mysterious Stargate. The series titled Stargate Origins explores the journey that sets a young Catherine Langford on the way to helping unlock the secrets of an ancient technology that could change the very course of humanity. The new series stars Ellie Gall, Connor Trinneer, Shvan Aladdin, and Philip Alexander. The live-action series will premiere on MGM’s streaming service Stargate Command beginning 15 February 2018.
