You portray Andrew Kim in The Exorcist. What will the character face throughout Season 2?
I think what is happening with Andy is that every belief that he hold is going to be challenged be it personal, philosophical and professional. It seems like all the truth that he holds dear is going to be stretched.
What do you do between takes on set to keep things light?
Farting. (laughs) On my side we have got a bunch of kids, things are starting to turn dark but it is easy to get silly with a bunch of children and they range in age. They don’t get darken by the theme. That is the wonderful thing about being young. We play then we stop playing then we play again. So, I don’t think they are spooked out. They like the scary stuff in a way that adults carry a baggage into the supernatural and stuff. For them it all play they can turn it on and off like a water spell.
Do you believe demonic possession is possible?
I think about this story of Legion in the Bible who was affected by demons and they were exorcised into a bunch of pigs that immediately drown themselves. Ever since I was a boy I wondered what afflictions this man have if he would really existed was he possessed by demons or was he paranoid schizophrenic. I don’t know if I should believe in it. I have never seen an evidence of it but if you tell me that demons exist and if I think you are a trustworthy source maybe I believe you.
What about The Exorcist do you think audience like?
From my perspective it is probably this age-old question on whether we are free individuals or not. It is the flip side of the benevolence belief which is that there is the Almighty God who is looking over us and then the flip sides of that there are forces who are battling against the benevolence being. Do I have control over my life or is someone else or other forces in charge and affecting my life? Again, if you have an answer to that let me know. I think ever since we crawled out of the water we have been wandering that.
