In Life Inspired’s original series Japan Authentic, host Erwan Huessaff takes viewers on a tour across the country exploring the road less travelled. The series sees Erwan visiting off-the-beaten path places such as Iiyama, Hida, Noto, Sasayama, Ine and Tanabe, where local produce are at its freshest and the people are most welcoming.
Japan Authentic showcases a number of unique attributes about the country where dramatic hills, mountain valleys and thatched farmhouses are the backdrop to a scenic and genuine experience. All of this is brought to life on screen by Erwan, a renowned lifestyle video creator and culinary enthusiast…
What motivated you to start your blog ‘The Fat Kid Inside”?
I was obese until the age of 21 and lost the weight through my own research and discipline. Upon moving back to Manila I saw that a lot of people were lost when it came to getting healthier, so I decided to help.
How has your blog grown from the day it started to what it is today?
Exponentially. From a couple of hundred of readers, to hundreds of thousands, from articles to videos, from vlogs to full blown shows, I’ve really seen it involved into a business.
What was the first video that you made and what was the inspiration behind it?
I was in Russia with the most destitute kitchen, while some friends were at home in the Philippines complaining about how they couldn’t get food, when I was in the middle of 5 months of winter in far eastern Siberia. So to spite them, I made a fondant cake, with a microwave and a cup.
Do you have any plans to expand your blog, Youtube channel and overall brand?
Less about expanding more about growing what I already have going.
What are your hopes (career wise) in the near future?
Hopefully create and produce a show for a large American or European network, grow our restaurants, write a book, produce a health documentary and just keep creating endeavors that inspire me.
What can people expect from ‘Japan Authenthic’ and what do you hope people gain from this show?
It’s a different take from your big city travel shows. We really went to places that I would have never gone by my own. So we hope that people will be inspired to just go, get loss and discover the beauty of Japan, outside of Tokyo and Osaka, even if they don’t speak the language.
