Bad news for LEGO fans because The LEGO Movie sequel has been pushed back an entire year. Warner Bros has officially switched the release date from May 2018 to February 2019. No reason has been given for the postponement.
The LEGO Movie sequel will see directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller remain on board as screenwriter with Rob Schrab stepping in to direct. But there is good news on the horizon, The LEGO Batman Movie is still going ahead as plan with director Chris McKay. So there will be no shortage of LEGO to keep you occupied till 2019.
Following The LEGO Movie sequel postponement, Warner Bros has also tweaked its release states with several switch-ups. Ben Affleck’s Live By Night has been brought up to January 2017 whilst the Gerard Butler sci-fi thriller, Geostorm has been pushed to October 2017. Last but not least, Bastards, starring Owen Wilson and Ed Helms comes to cinemas in January 2017.
The LEGO Movie sequel is currently in development.
