Cinemax is set to air the anticipated medical drama series starring Clive Owen less than 24 hours after its U.S telecast.
There has been a lot of buzz about the new Cinemax Original Series, The Knick, even though very little has been revealed about it. From what we do know, the ten-episode medical drama is set in the 1900s and centres solely on the Knickerbocker Hospital in New York.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Clive Owen, the dark medical drama examines the doctors and staff at the hospital who pushes ground breaking medicinal practices in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.
Owen stars as Dr. John Thackery, a brilliant surgeon who struggles with his own demons but constantly pushes the boundaries of medicine. Although it has yet to be aired, it should be noted that The Knick has already been renewed for a second season.
Is it really that good?
The Knick, premieres Saturday, August 9 at 10pm on Cinemax (Astro Ch412). The series airs less than 24 hours after its U.S. premiere.
