K-drama fans will want to tune into tvN Asia on 16 February for the premiere of The Heavenly Idol. Starring Kim Min-gue, Go Bo Gyeol and Lee Jang Wook, the new fantasy-romance series. The story revolves around Pontifex Lembrary (Kim Min-gue), who gets transferred to a different world after fighting against the devil.
He awakens to find himself possessing the body of an unpopular idol named Woo Yeon-woo. Will he be able to navigate the entertainment industry and adapt to idol life? The premise of the show sounds wild, check out the trailer for a first look.
The High Priest Turns K-pop Idol
After a fierce battle with the devil, Pontifex Lembrary from the mystical realms finds himself swopping bodies with Woo Yeon-woo, a member of an unpopular idol K-pop group Wild Animal. In order, to convince Yeon-woo to switch back to his body, Lembrary must make Wild Animal successful. Soon, the holy Lembrary begins his crash course as a K-pop idol, struggling to endure diets, master dance choreography, sing and even strike sexy poses for the camera, all while fighting against the devil.
Fan-girl to the Rescue
Kim Dal (Go Bo Gyeol) is Woo Yeon Woo’s No. 1 fan girl and will go all out to support her favourite idol. When Yeon-woo suddenly proclaims himself as a High Priest, Kim Dal gets a job as Wild Animal’s road manager. She is determined to do everything she could to bring her bias back to his senses and protect him at all costs!
The Devil is Right Beside You
Behind his suave and chivalrous appearance, Shin Jo-woon (Lee Jang-woo), the vice-president is the CEO of the entertainment company managing Wild Animal, is actually possessed by the King of Darkness, the devil who can manipulate people’s minds with his black magic and is ruthlessly hunting down Lembrary.
