TGV Cinemas, one of Malaysia’s leading exhibitor and multiplex cinema operators recently organised its inaugural Marvel Mania: Superhero Bash at The Ballroom in Jaya Shopping Centre. Attended by TGV Cinemas’ customers, the event saw the coming together of more than 300 movie, Marvel and Avengers: Age of Ultron fans celebrating their unified passion for all things related to the Marvel movie and comic universe.
“The buzzing excitement about the long list of Marvel and comics related movies that are due to grace our big screens in the coming years is infectious, especially with the opening of Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron recently. Therefore, we wanted to create an opportunity to gather these die-hard fans, engage with them and share in love for Marvel movies and comics,” said Celeste Koay, Senior Marketing Manager of TGV Cinemas.
The attendees of TGV Cinemas’ Marvel Mania: Superhero Bash were treated to a variety of superhero related activities including a ‘Star-Lord Dance Off’ and the ‘Best Iron Man’ whereby participants had to iron as many t-shirts as possible. There were also comics and toys on display and for sale by Lil Monsters, The Mind Shop and CTFKL (Collectors Toy Fair Kuala Lumpur), face painting, photo booth and lucky draw sessions and colouring and drawing contests for kids as well.
The event saw a number of attendees who came dressed up in various costumers such as Captain America, Thanos, Loki, Red Skull and even other DC Comic characters like Wonder Woman, Batwoman and Spiderman. Those in costume took part in the Superhero (for adults), mini Superhero (for children under 12) and Dynamic Duo (for Adult and Child) costume contest. The grand prize winner for the adult category and the Dynamic Duo took home a PS4 unit and a set of TGV Cinemas’ Avengers Collectible Hexagons each, whilst the Mini Superhero took home movie passes and the Avengers Collectible Hexagon set.
Other prizes that awaited the attendees included an array of TGV Cinemas movie passes that were given during the trivia session and Marvel Series figurines (courtesy of Lil Monsters) and several units of PS Vita during the Lucky Draw session. Attendees also walked away with a goodie bag from TGV Cinemas which included vouchers from Starbucks Coffee Malaysia and The Ballroom.
