TGV Cinemas, one of Malaysia’s leading exhibitor and multiplex cinema operators, is celebrating the most anticipated space epic of the year Star Wars: The Force Awakens with its customers this December with many exciting activities and offers.
To kick start the celebration, TGV Cinemas has launched the advance ticket sales on 16 November 2015 through its website, mobile app and over its box office counters nationwide. Besides the advance ticket sales, the cinema will be having Star Wars themed activities in its selected TGV Cinemas and malls aiming to gather fans and create maximum hype among new generation of moviegoers who are yet to be unfamiliar with the Star Wars’ impact and influences back in 70s and 80s.
Amongst the activities in store is the collaboration with Star Wars Malaysia Fan Club (SWMFC)’s Voyage to the Awakening Roadshows in selected TGV Cinemas for movie goers to view displays of exclusive Star Wars collectible, lightsaber performances and participate in the Star Wars Trivia contests. Movie goers also stand a chance to win movie passes when they take part in TGV Cinemas’ Spot & Snap contest.
The Voyage to the Awakening Roadshow will be happening in selected TGV Cinemas (TGV Cinemas Cheras Selatan, TGV Cinemas Wangsa Walk, TGV Cinemas 1 Utama, TGV Cinemas Jaya Shopping Centre and TGV Cinemas Mines) from 21 November to 20 December every Saturday and Sunday.
Apart from Star Wars Malaysia Fan Club (SWMFC)’s roadshows, TGV Cinemas will have a Star Wars: The Force Awakens All-Night-Screening at TGV Cinemas Sunway Pyramid on 17 December 2015. The screening will be available in IMAX, Beanie and standard halls from 12.00midnight onwards.
An hour prior to the respective screenings, there will be activities such as Star Wars Costume Dance-Off, Droid Race, Battlefront challenge, Photo booth, and more to keep the nocturnal movie goers entertained and win attractive prizes. Movie goers can purchase Star Wars themed snacks throughout the night or redeem a complimentary Wonda Coffee when they come dressed up in any Star Wars characters.
Additionally, the TGV Cinema is also collaborating with their official IMAX partner – Maybank and 1 Utama Shopping Centre, to participate in their year-end celebration. The celebration will be happening from 10 December to 20 December at 1 Utama Shopping Centre old wing concourse. Many exciting activities such as Star Wars costume appearance by Star Wars Malaysian Fan Club, Lightsaber performances, collectibles display, flea market and giveaways will be organised by TGV Cinemas in addition to other tenants’ activities.
Lastly, TGV Cinemas has also launched the limited edition Star Wars: The Force Awakens plush keychains from 10 December. Movie goers can purchase one regular popcorn, soft drink and one Star Wars: The Force Awakens plush keychain for only RM22.90 or purchase the whole set (4 plush keychains) and one regular popcorn and soft drinks for only RM80.00 for TGV Cinemas MovieClub members and RM90.00 for non-members.
