Great news for fans of the Ghosbusters, because you’ll be getting a new instalment to the franchise next spring. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is set to send a chill down your spines with an all-new paranormal threat.
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artefact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
This refreshing new story puts the franchise on a new direction, one that isn’t link to past Ghostbusters adventures. In Afterlife, we saw the return of Zuul, but Frozen Empire could provide a new spin on the franchise.
Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace return to reprise their roles from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The sequel will however welcome some new additions such as Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim. Original Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Bill Murray also make a return in this film.
Taking over directorial duties from Jason Reitman is Gil Kenan (Monster House). Based on the 1984 film Ghostbusters, an Ivan Reitman film written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire comes to cinemas in March 2024. The Sony Pictures production is produced by Jason Reitman.
