Both Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell will reportedly team up for a new musical take on A Christmas Carol. The film will be reimagined as a comedic/musical spin on Charles Dickens’ classic tale. The project will be written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, whom collaborated on the comedy, Daddy’s Home, which starred Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.
Ferrell enjoyed great success in the holiday film, Elf, which was released in 2003, so it will be interesting to see his return to the genre. Reynolds on the other hand has been busy filming a number of projects recently.
This includes his cameo appearances in Hobbs & Shaw this year as well as his upcoming releases of 6 Underground on Netflix and the action-comedy, Free Guy, directed by Shawn Levy. Ferrell will next be seen in Downhill, which is a remake of the 2014 dark comedy, Force Majeure.
