February 2023 will see the return of the crew of the Enterprise D. As seen in the new Picard Season 3 trailer, the series will be packed with familiar faces and deadly new threats. But as seen in the new clip, Patrick Stewart, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner are back for another space adventure. Joining them are Picard series alumni, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd.
The new Picard season 3 trailer doesn’t reveal the plot of the series except that a new threat has surfaced threatening the crew of the Enterprise. Although aged and weathered, it’s certainly exciting to see the TNG crew return for a new adventure.
There’s a new ship, which could be the all-new Enteprise and also an ominous big bad, played by Amanda Plummer. Although the villain remains a mystery for now, there are also familiar baddies from the original TNG series as well.
As seen in the new trailer, Spiner is back as Data’s evil twin brother Lore. Daniel Davis also makes a comeback as holo-novel character turned evil entity, Professor Moriarty. Picard Season 3 marks the final season of the revival sci-fi series.
The past two seasons have been interesting to say the least with throwbacks to the previous TNG series. Season 1 focused on Picard uncovering a cure for a fatal disease whilst providing a fitting end for his old friend Data.
Season 2 shifted gears somewhat with a time-travelling tale involving TNG nemesis, Q. The third season is shaping up to be the most exciting yet, one that’s mixed with action, emotion and a healthy dose of nostalgia. Check out the trailer below.
