It looks like Ewan McGregor will be back as Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new series, which will premiere on Disney+. There has been numerous reports that the actor is being lured back to reprise his role as the fearless Jedi warrior in this new series.
McGregor portrayed Obi-Wan in the Star Wars prequels, and was heavily rumoured to reprise the role in a standalone Star Wars spinoff several years ago. However with Solo: A Star Wars Story, disappointing at the box-office, Lucasfilm and Disney has effectively pulled the plug on all its future standalone projects.
However, the impending arrival of Disney’s new streaming service may prove to be the ideal place for projects involving some of these beloved characters. The Disney+ series already as The Mandalorian in production with a Rogue One spinoff starring Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk, who will return as Cassian Andor and the android, K-2SO.
Disney however hasn’t confirmed the Obi-Wan project at this point of time, but industry experts are claiming they will do so when D23 rolls around sometime later this week. Fans are also hoping to get another look at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at the event as well.
