It looks like Netflix’s Millarworld is off to a rocky start because its first series has come and is effectively gone. For fans who enjoyed the superhero drama series, Jupiter’s Legacy, it looks like you will have to resign yourself to rewatching the series because it is effectively cancelled.
The streaming giant has cancelled the series after just one season. Jupiter’s Legacy ran for eight episodes and told the story of a group of superheroes throughout several decades. The show was largely centred on the parents and their superhero kids who struggled to live up to the ideals set by the first generation of heroes.
Jupiter’s Legacy was an expensive project for the streamer. Reportedly it cost USD200 million to produce the entire season. The series, which premiered on 7 May 2021, was anchored by Josh Duhamel and Leslie Bibb. The finale also ended with a cliffhanger, which fans will not be able to see. Less of course, Netflix decides to continue with the storyline via a movie or animated series.
The series’ immediate fate is that it will be resigned to being an anthology at Netflix. Supercrooks, the next Mark Millar adaptation will be transformed into a live-action production for the streamer. There will also be an animated version of the series due out as well.
Supercrooks will follow a band of supervillains who team up to orchestrate a major heist.
