The latest Marvel series is upon us and will arrive on Disney+ in June. Mere weeks away, the Disney streamer is ramping up the hype with a new trailer for Secret Invasion. Based on the comic book crossover series, the series sees Nick Fury embark on his most dangerous mission yet, one that may well see him without any superhero backup.
Set in the present-day MCU, Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shape shifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.
Spread out across six episodes, Secret Invasion will premiere on June 21 on Disney+. The series is led by Samuel L. Jackson who reprises his role as Nick Fury. Also returning as their characters from the MCU are Ben Mendelsohn and Cobie Smulders as Talos, and Maria Hill respectively. Don Cheadle will also appear in the series as James “Rhodey” Rhodes with Martin Freeman reprising his role as Everett K. Ross.
New additions to the MCU include Emilia Clarke as G’iah – the daughter of Talos, Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik. The series also stars Dermot Mulroney, Carmen Ejogo, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, and Charlayne Woodard.
